Birthdays!!! A time for celebration or are just following the rudiments of the world?

Let's take a look.

We are told from the very beginning of our 1st year that birthdays are the one time of year where they get to feel really special. The family gathers around balloons, cakes, and cameras all ready to capture those moments that many choose to relive the next year around. Now it is important to establish that there is nothing wrong with celebrating the fact that YHWH has brought you this far, I mean birthdays are fun. But have you ever taken a step back to consider the pagan elements of birthdays that many are deceived about.

Here we will take a look at the pagan roots and pagan elements of birthdays, so we can avoid them and keep our birthdays as clean as possible.

Where did it all begin?

It has been known from historians and researchers that birthdays actually began around 3000 years before the common era and was brought forth by the Egyptians and their intentions were questionable. The reason being that they weren’t celebrating their natural birth but in fact their birth as a ‘god’.

Moreover, when the pharaohs were crowned, it was considered that they had become a god, the day a man became a god according to their warped beliefs was held to be above the actual physical birth of a human being.

Now the Greeks also have specific demonic pagan beliefs about the spiritual significance of an individual's birth. They believed that a spirit was present with each person on the day of his or her birth. This very same spirit kept watch and had mystic relations with the god on whose birthday that particular individual was born.

So you see when people talk about spirituality and they don’t mean the Most High Yah or the Holy Spirit, it can only mean they are talking about the latter form of being spiritual which is of a demonic nature. These pagans knew this and had embedded their demonic practices into this annual event... which have trickled down into modern day.

Want to know how? well…

The Gregorian calendar! You see it wasn’t until ancient people started taking note of the moon’s cycles that they began to notice changes in seasons as well. They also noticed this pattern repeated itself over and over again.

Now of course when you concern yourself with the word of the Most High YHWH, you already know through the Book of Enoch that the seasonal changes through the year are no mere coincidence, but in actuality the changes throughout summer to winter are intricately planned and design by the Most High Yah.

Chapter 2 link for the seasonal changes mentioned in book of Enoch here: https://sacred-texts.com/bib/boe/boe005.htm

(p.s keep reading up to Chapter 5)

Anyways….the pagans began marking these changes in time and this brought the first calendars, which special days like anniversaries and other so called ‘special days’. Notice how the Gregorian calendars will never acknowledge the Most High YHWH's days which further signifies how fallen and away from the Most High YHWH this world is.

The pagan elements of the celebration itself ...

Many people have been deceived into being partakers of ritualistic activities when it comes to birthdays. One of the most prominent ways this is seen is though…

Birthday candles

Fire was believed to be used by ancient pagans to play a role in the protection of evil spirits and this was incorporated into birthday candles. They believed that the smoke would be protection and that the smoke was a direct route to the heavens.

So do you really want to bring this pagan ritual into your home? Furthermore, the making of a wish was intended to carry their prayers to the gods in the sky.

Birthday cakes

The creation of cakes originated from C18th Germanic tradition known as Kinderfest, and during this pagan celebration it was believed no one could eat the cake until after dinner. Finally, when the moment came, the birthday child would make a wish and try to blow out all the candles in one breath before getting to eat the cake. Like in our modern tradition, the birthday child wouldn’t tell anyone their wish so it would come true. The child was now safe and protected from the evil spirits.

The vanity of birthdays.

As mentioned in the beginning of the blog, Egyptians would celebrate their birth as a god… Interestingly this draws an interesting parallel to the way many people today on the day of the birthday embrace the adorning and celebration of themselves, almost as if they are a god themself.

Especially, in the age of social media, people are more concerned with lavish birthdays and 1000 selfies all for clicks and likes and the validation of people around them and those they don’t even know! This can be seen through their outfits, how big of a party they can have or how expensive a gift they can get, there's nothing wrong with having a nice birthday party but what is the condition of your heart, is it for the validation of others?

You can see that people's hearts couldn't be further from the Most High on their birthdays because it is supposedly ALL ABOUT THEM, but won’t take the time out to thank the Most High YHWH for the blessing of getting older, so make sure you check your heart to not forget to thank YHWH and centralise His praise on the day!

Don’t be ignorant

Unfortunately some even in the faith will still say

“well..I am not thinking about the pagan elements when celebrating so… why does it matter?”

To those, I would say it definitely does matter because on your ‘birthday’ you partake in the exact same practices that pagans would do to reverence their false gods. Do you really think it is wise to be a part-taker of this? People in the bible did not partake in the pagan elements of birthdays…why would you?

The point of this blog was to educate you and hopefully encourage you to stay away from the PAGAN elements of birthdays, not your birthday as a whole.

God bless
